I just read that EXXXon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) broke its own record for the highest-ever quarterly profit for a U.S. company on Thursday. Wow, why am I not surprised. After all, we, the public, have been paying over $4.00 gallon for gas for a while. How in (insert stars, bars, and exclamation points) can the oil industry moan about the problems in the Mid East causing the rise in oil prices yet post the highest-ever quarterly profit for a U.S. company. Oh, but I guess we should feel sorry for them because Exxon's profits were a disappointment on Wall Street, and the company's stock slumped nearly 5 percent. Darn. I bet the bigwigs at EXXXon are crying all the way to the bank, their homes on the hill, while driving in the chauffeur driven (hybrid) hummers.
